A coozie is a thermal insulation sleeve, normally made of neoprene foam, used to insulate a cold drink from the heat outside of the outer container, usually a can or glass.
It is sometimes called a “cooler coozie” because it helps keep your cool drink cooler for longer periods of time.
In Australia we just call them “Stubby Coolers“.
What is neoprene?
Neoprene sheets are composed of synthetic rubber with fibers that enable it to stretch and cling when coiled into its natural form
Neoprene fabrication begins with mixing pre-cured nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) with filler materials such as carbon black and mineral fillers and spraying the mixture through nozzles onto fabric sheets in an open coater.
